Posted on 06/12/2026
The SCNC Sustainability and Beautification Committee’s next meeting will focus on the LA River:
- Date & Time: Monday, June 12th at 7:00 PM
- Location: Online via Zoom
We are hosting two guest speakers to discuss how we can protect, clean up, and restore our local green spaces:
- Sepulveda Basin Wildlife Reserve Habitat Restoration: Learn about their successful programs and how we can apply those strategies to the Studio City section of the LA River—specifically addressing litter removal, unhoused encampments, and restoring native habitats.
- Spotlight on the LA River: We’ll be discussing targeted efforts for the area between Colfax Ave and Tujunga Ave (south side of the river), which is currently facing heavy litter, debris, encampments, and destroyed native trees.
- Save LA River Open Space (SLAROS): Discover their ongoing mission to protect the San Fernando Valley's natural beauty and ensure our community has vibrant outdoor spaces to enjoy.
? Get Involved: Your voice matters in shaping the future of our local environment. Whether you're passionate about wildlife conservation, river cleanups, or community spaces, this meeting is for you.
