Legacy Business Program Trainings

Posted on 08/15/2024

Is your Studio City business 20 years or older? Get support here!

Earlier this year, the City of Los Angeles launched its Legacy Business Program, which is designed to provide different types of assistance, including grants, technical, and marketing assistance, to small businesses that have been operating in the City for 20+ years. To become eligible for these services, small businesses that qualify must apply and register as a legacy business. Our office will be hosting three info sessions, one virtually and the other two in person, to assist with these efforts. Staff from the Economic and Workforce Development Department will be present to assist small business owners with their applications.

Sustainability Saturday :: Know the dangers of FAST FASHION

Posted on 05/04/2024

Over 100 billion clothing items are created each year. More than 87% of these items eventually end up in landfills or are burned. Fast fashion companies churn out new products constantly at low prices, using underpaid/exploited labor and cheap materials. Instead of buying new clothes, they can be repaired, re-dyed and/or re-designed to get new looks. In addition, these companies are also supporting clothing swaps to help people get new clothes by trading with others.
