A Letter from the SCNC President
I would like to welcome everyone back – your Board, Chairs and all of our Stakeholders throughout Studio City.
Welcome Richard. I know that we all look forward to being involved and seeing accomplishments from this Committee.
Sadly, I have to pass on the resignation of one of our Renter Board Members, Todd Royal. Aside from being a friend, Todd has worked as Chair of Transportation, Vice President and served as a Board member to better all of Studio City. Todd and his family will be relocating outside of Studio City and will no longer be eligible to hold a Board seat.
Thank you Todd for all of your past years of work. We wish you and your family continued happiness and success. If there is any interest in a Renter who would be interested in an appointment to this seat until our next Neighborhood Council elections, please contact me.
At our first meeting on January 18th, our Guest Speaker will be Council-member and Mayoral Candidate Eric Garcetti. Mr. Garcetti stepped down as President of the City Council so that he could devote time to this race. Mr Garcetti is a Fourth-generation Angeleno. He studied urban planning and political science at Columbia University, where he received his B.A. and M.A. in international Relations. He also studied as a Rhodes Scholar at Oxford University and the London School of Economics.
Mr. Garcetti will speak to the important issues regarding Studio City and Los Angeles, and will be sharing his ideas on how to help get our great City back to work.
Please plan to attend this very important first meeting of the year. Your voice/vote IS IMPORTANT and the more we know about our candidates, the better equipped we are to make that choice.
I hope to see an over-flow audience on the CBS Lot, Wednesday, January 18th. Refreshments at 6:30.

I have never had the pleasure of hearing Mr. Garcetti speak other than on television. I am grateful to the Neighborhood Council for bringing these Mayoral candidates to our community.
